What if you could take any vehicle and just, like, make it autonomous? Well, now you can. This morning, Overland AI unveiled an autonomy “upfit kit” called SPARK that can plug and play into pretty much any ground vehicle, from a Camry to a tank, and turn it into a drone.

Overland AI today unveiled SPARK, a comprehensive autonomy upfit that transforms any ground vehicle into a fully autonomous platform by integrating the company's advanced OverDrive software stack with existing vehicle hardware.

In air and at sea, large numbers of individually simple agents can be brought together in an autonomous swarm to achieve collective behaviors. These environments—blue skies and open oceans—allow for operationally relevant coordination without the need for high individual intelligence.

Overland AI, a leader in autonomous ground systems, announced the opening of the Overland AI Factory in South Seattle. Congressman Adam Smith, representing Washington’s Ninth Congressional District, visited yesterday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the facility, which will significantly enhance the company’s in-house manufacturing and production of autonomous ground vehicles at scale.
